Grand Cayman Bonefish

By Tim DeMay

I recently had the opportunity to fish Grand Cayman Island.  The calm, clear water, and the rocky shorelines makes fishing from the shore very easy.  The species that I targeted on this trip was the bonefish.

Nothing like having the president of the Ohio Huskie Muskie Club demonstrate that he is worthy of the office by catching a monster Muskie himself.  That is just what Fred Lederer of Perrysburg did over the recent Memorial Day weekend while fishing at Pymatuning Lake on the northeast Ohio-Pennsylvania border. He landed a 47 1/2-inch muskellunge, or muskie, that weighed an arm-straining 46 pounds.

Florida fisherman lands 844-pound shark

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) — Six friends went to a fishing tournament looking to catch some grouper. They caught an 844-pound shark instead.  The fight by Adlee Bruner and friends to pull the 11-foot mako shark onto the boat from the Gulf of Mexico took more than an hour. But when they made it back to land, it was a record for the decades-old Destin Fishing Rodeo.

The exception was in the BFGoodrich Tires boat.
